What is a deposit?
A deposit is an amount the client pays in advance when booking an appointment. It protects your calendar against late cancellations and no-shows: whoever leaves a deposit, shows up.
Payment is made by Bizum or card through Stripe. The money goes straight to your business account.
Enable the deposit
You can enable the deposit at two levels. The most specific level always wins:
- Per clinic — Enable it in Settings → Payments so it applies to all appointments by default.
- Per service — Configure a different deposit for a specific service (for example, a long or expensive treatment).
Fixed amount or percentage
The deposit can be set as a fixed amount (for example, €20) or as a percentage of the price of the service (for example, 30%). Choose what best fits your business.
Automatic refund
If the client cancels within the allowed window (24 hours before the appointment by default), the deposit is refunded automatically. You don't have to do anything: the system handles the refund itself.
Retention for no-shows or late cancellations
If the client doesn't show up or cancels late, the deposit is retained. That way you don't lose the slot. The no-show is also recorded on the client's profile as a warning for future bookings.
⚠️ You need Stripe connected
To charge deposits you must have a Stripe Connect account connected. If it isn't, the deposit option won't be able to charge the client. See the guide «Set up payments and Stripe».
